A short ferry hop from Seattle is Vashon Island. It's noted for hills
and some of the most beautiful scenic conutryside in the area.

The first leg off of the ferry is a two mile climb to the top of the island
where you start a roller coaster ride along the island's western shore.

If you live through this part of the ride you return across the top and
start south to Burton Center, a good location for refreshments.

From here you continue on south to Vashon Center
past ocean beaches and multiple mooring areas for local boats.

After a little relaxation and socializing in Vashon Center
you have just a short ride back to the ferry dock.

Ferries arrive and leave Vashon about every 30 minutes so within
short order you are back to Seattle, ending another fun day of cycling.
